Artist Unknown is an art collective aiming to bring joy and playfulness of art into everyday life, applying dialogical aesthetics to where art and life overlap.
Artist Unknown’s members deliberately abandon their personal and social identities as not to distract the audience from the work itself.
Developing the concepts of social sculpture and that ‘everybody is an artist’ by Joseph Beyus; continuing to blur boundaries between art and life (Alan Kaprow); inspired by ‘artistic service’ (Andrea Fraser), Artist Unknown’s performative participative practice is based on collaboration and establishing connections.
Like language, art is what makes us human, and is deeply embedded in human psyche. Artist Unknown sees the emergence of a new kind of art - creating opportunities and space where people can break free from their rigid roles and make new connections with others and selve.
